Welcome to Caruzel, where creativity and community meet innovation. These Terms of Service (“TOS”) govern your access to and use of the Caruzel platform and services (the “Services”). Please read them carefully, as they set out the rights and obligations of all users of the platform. By accessing or using Caruzel, you agree to these terms.

Caruzel is a marketplace that connects posters (post authors) with board hosts (spaces or websites) for the display of digital content. Our mission is to provide an environmentally conscious platform for curated, visually engaging paid posts.

2. User Roles & Responsibilities

Caruzel offers two primary user roles:

• Posters: Users who create and submit content for display on digital boards.
• Board Hosts: Venues that host digital boards and display the approved content.

Both user roles are responsible for adhering to our terms, maintaining a positive user experience, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

3. Content Ownership & Usage Rights

• User Ownership: Users retain full ownership of the content they upload to the platform.
• License to Caruzel: By submitting content, users grant Caruzel a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, modify, and display the content for marketing, promotional, and case study purposes. This license does not require additional permissions or payment.
• Prohibited Content: Users must not post content that violates any laws or regulations, infringes on intellectual property rights, or is harmful or offensive. Prohibited content includes, but is not limited to:
  
  • Political or religious content
  • Illegal substances or activities
  • Weapons, drugs, pornography
  • Tobacco and vaping products
• Copyright Violations: Users are solely responsible for ensuring that their content does not infringe on the copyrights or intellectual property rights of third parties. Caruzel takes no responsibility for copyright violations.

4. Content Moderation & Community Guidelines

• Moderation Process: All content submitted by posters will be reviewed by Caruzel for compliance with our policies before being forwarded to board hosts for publication.
• Board Host Discretion: Board hosts have the final say on which content is displayed on their screens.
• User Conduct: We expect all users to maintain respectful and friendly conduct. Users must follow our content design and quality standards as outlined in Section 13.
• Violations: Users who repeatedly submit content that violates these terms or community guidelines may be suspended or permanently banned from the platform.

5. Payments & Financial Terms

Caruzel facilitates secure payment processing to ensure a smooth experience for all users.

• Payment Methods: Payments are processed digitally through third-party services like PayPal or Stripe.
• Booking Approval: Once a poster submits a booking request, board hosts have up to 5 days to either accept or decline the request. If no action is taken, the booking is automatically declined, and no payment is processed.
• Revenue Distribution:
  
  • 60% of each booking is received by board hosts.
  • 10% is donated to environmental projects.
  • 30% is retained by Caruzel.
• Refund Policy: Refunds may be issued under the following circumstances:
  
  • Poster Cancellation: Posters may cancel bookings, and refunds may be granted based on the remaining booking days.
  • Service Issues: If a board host fails to provide the agreed-upon service or displays the content poorly, posters may be eligible for a refund.
  • Failed Payments: Bookings are not confirmed until payment is successfully processed. Failed payments result in automatic cancellation of the booking.

6. Account Cancellation & Data Retention

• Account Cancellation: Users can cancel their accounts at any time through their profile settings.
• Data Deletion: Upon cancellation, all user data will be permanently deleted from our system. We do not retain any user data beyond account deletion.

7. Privacy & Data Collection

• Minimal Data Collection: We only collect essential personal data, such as names and email addresses.
• Anonymity Options: Users may use display names instead of their real names to protect their privacy.
• Data Protection: We do not sell user data to third parties or allow tracking on the platform.

8. Disclaimer of Liability

Caruzel is not responsible for:

• The content, services, or conduct of third parties, including board hosts and posters.
• Third-party links or any damage caused by clicking on external links.
• Service interruptions or issues caused by board hosts failing to display content properly.

9. Dispute Resolution

• Resolution Standards: Disputes will be handled in accordance with international standards.
• Contact Sharing: In disputes involving posters and board hosts, Caruzel may share the contact details of the involved parties to facilitate private resolution.

10. Changes to Terms of Service

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Users will be notified of any significant changes at least one month before they take effect.

11. Termination of Service

Caruzel reserves the right to terminate or restrict user access under the following circumstances:

• Violations of the TOS or community guidelines.
• Non-payment or payment issues.
• Misuse or abuse of the platform.

12. Intellectual Property Rights

Caruzel retains ownership of:

• Technology: The proprietary content player developed by Caruzel.
• Designs: Content formats and templates created by Caruzel.
• Trademarks: The Caruzel brand and logo.

13. Content Design Standards

To ensure high-quality, visually appealing content, all users must adhere to our design standards:

• Resolution & Aspect Ratio:
  
  • Minimum resolution: 1920×1080 pixels for images and 1080p for videos.
  • Aspect ratios should match venue specifications.
• Text & Readability:
  
  • Keep text minimal and easy to read, with no more than 20% of the design covered by text.
  • Use sans-serif fonts for better legibility.
• Color & Visual Balance:
  
  • Use vibrant but not overwhelming colors.
  • Avoid flashing visuals or excessive motion effects.
• Logo Placement:
  
  • Logos can be included or omitted. Every post will display the profile picture or logo and name of the publisher. Branding should be subtle and tasteful.
• File Formats:
  
  • Images should be in PNG or JPG format.
  • Videos should be in MP4 format, with a maximum file size of 50MB.
